Hi, my name is Thomas Kalinoski and I'm the owner of Thomas Wallcovering, a full-scale painting, decorating, and home restoration company.

It all started during college in 1986 when I found out that wallpaper removal paid much better than busing tables and helped me pay off those college loans much faster.

I found the work exciting and fascinating and continued working under the guidance of Jim Bissonette and Frederick White, professional paint retailers and contractors in my home state of Connecticut while I completed my college education.

Deciding to further my training in my field, I attended the United States School of Professional Paperhanging and Decorating in Rutland, Vermont, in 1989. It was, at that time, only one of three specialized accredited schools training men and women from around the world the art of wall covering installations and decorative painting.

Later I went on to obtain my Associate Degree in Building Technology at Manchester Technical College. While studying I continued to improve my skills in the painting trade and worked for Lawrence Rose Painting, Inc. in Hartford, Connecticut. After completing my education I was determined to strike out on my own. I relocated to the Philadelphia area and obtained extensive experience in interior and exterior painting, drywall application, and paperhanging with the John Benner Painting Company for one year.

After I finally worked up enough nerve, I started my own painting and wall covering business in 1995.

Over the years, I've had great experiences in my field. Like the all-nighters I pulled installing commercial vinyl in auto dealerships after business hours - working for professional certified interior designers where you have the opportunity to experience tailoring your work to the most discriminating homeowners. I even had the privilege of hanging the elite distinctive wall coverings, Zuber, Scalamandre, Gramercy, and Cowtan &Tout while helping to restore a historical landmark. What a thrill!

I'm now in the process of further expanding my business by networking with other contractors. I've developed enough professional contacts that I'll find you the electrician, plumber, mason, carpenter, carpet installer, who you'll need if you decide to tackle a major home renovation project. These are reputable, certified, licensed, and insured tradesman I would have working in my home. You get to avoid the hassle of missing much time from work trying to coordinate the schedule of multiple contractors. After becoming certified in carpentry  and plumbing, continueing my education at Delaware Technical College now allows me to take on small renovation projects such as bathrooms and basements with the guidance of local bulding inspectors and architects.
